Here are some images from my last week of work in the Biblioteca, which I just finished this afternoon. It was quite a week with a lot of happenings, some joyful and some sorrowful to say the least; just one last tug at the heart string before I head home, just a few more things to miss and to feel for. A very very full heart these days. Also today, about a half an hour before I left the home for the "last time", a cow that we just got yesterday calved, and it seems that it was decided that the calf should be named after me. The great part is... it's a male. haha. One more joking poke to the ribs from Bolivia. The coming week will be an interesting one... I will have a despedida (going away party) one day for lunch at the Guarderia, I will have to (with a sense of finality... since it has already happened on numerous occasions...) de-louse myself, de-worm, de-parasite, and get a test for Chagas - a serious disease that is transmitted by a type of beetle found here in Bolivia. But mostly in the campo, so I think we're fine. Also, there is a lot of packing, gifting of material possessions, buying new ones, and chilling in favorite coffee shops to be done. And of course, the inevitable and rather painful goodbyes to... everyone I know except the two ladies I will be traveling home with on July 20th. *sigh*
So here are some images. I am in a lot of them. haha. It is my blog after all, they are my kids, and how dearly I will miss them. They all gave me cards this week... I went home on the micro today with quite a bag full of cards from my students. Hundreds of hugs and kisses, though so far no tears... yet. Let's just hang on two seconds for that one though.
